MissKeenEye 1-on-1 Interview

Let’s Focus: 1-on-1 with MissKeenEye @MissKeenEye

By: J (@J25dunn)

Welcome to this edition of Let’s Focus from @OCMMagazine, this time around I had the pleasure to chat with @MissKeenEye.

MissKeenEye is a vital part of the OnChainMonkey (OCM) team and we thought it would be good to shine a spotlight on her for all that she does for the OCM community. In our conversation, we focused on MissKeenEye’s past, how she came into the crypto/web3 space, and other interesting tangents along the way.

Let’s get into it!

During the start of our interview, MissKeenEye shared some of her extensive credentials in software engineering from previous job experience. About 10 years ago, MissKeenEye and her partner transitioned from Canada to the United States. While sorting out a work visa after the move, she decided to become involved with volunteering for the local Red Cross to give back to her new community.

While shortly re-entering the workforce, MissKeenEye decided that she wanted to start a family which is always a tough choice but as MissKeenEye told us, full of very rewarding experiences with her family. !RISE values are not something that you obtain just from joining the OCM community, they are a pattern and practice many have had for a long time.

An interesting discussion we had was about an idea that MissKeenEye developed at least in her mind, but I’d assume there are notes somewhere, about a very cool use case. She discussed how you could have an NFT that helps to adopt an animal like many non-profit organizations do already.

The really cool thing I liked about MissKeenEye’s idea was to have a regular update, maybe yearly, that would give a progress update on adopted animals through the NFT’s metadata. Also you could do a drop on some of the L2 chains for costs savings. It was a very interesting ideas and with the OCM team working on the parent-child relationship of Ordinals, maybe it has some new interesting aspects for a side project. *wink*  *wink*

During September of 2021, MissKeenEye’s partner was part of an ‘Alpha’ Discord server focused on crypto/NFTs. During this time, they began to hear about this free mint called OnChainMonkey. Like many, they were unable to be apart of the mint but were able to snag some they liked off the secondary market.

This led MissKeenEye to join the OCM Discord and to start to connect with others in the community. While the OCM team was looking for help with their growing project, MissKeenEye put her hand up to offer help and continues to provide value to the community.

When asked, what are some things MissKeenEye would like to highlight that community should know about more, she shared with me for all members to ask questions. The team is truly grateful for the feedback, participation and any question that you feel needs to be asked.

Tough questions asked in a respectful manner are good for all in the community. The team hears the concerns of their holders, other holders can give their opinion on the topic and possible solutions can come out of debate when all parties respect each other while sharing their differences of opinion.

Another topic that we discussed is getting together for small IRL events in your local community. The great thing about this, which was discussed in our interview with the OCM Small Grants Committee (SGC), is that if 5 or more OCM holders coordinate a meet-up, the SGC will help with a small amount of funding.

Later in the interview, we discussed our shared interest in gardening and seeing things go from seed to sustenance along with a few other tidbits.

From myself, OCM Magazine and many of the community members that MissKeenEye has helped directly and/or indirectly, we all would like to pass along our thanks for your hard work and dedication to the community. Our Wealthy Digital Nation wouldn’t be the same without you.

The OnChainMonkey community appreciates that MissKeenEye continues to provide value to the community behind the scenes as a Program Manager in a breadth of areas including community, merch, Wiki, collaborations and much more.

Thanks for taking the time to interview with OCM Magazine to learn more about you and spotlight some of the great work you do.
